EXHIBITS
One of the biggest clients in the exhibit sector is, of course, the zoo. At the Woodland Park Zoo I led a talented group of artists in developing a beautiful new home for the Humbolt Penguins, native to South America. I worked with R Scott Vance, interpretive designer, and his hundreds of reference photos from his reconnaissance trip to Punta San Juan, Peru. The exhibit replicates desert rock varieties from yellow and black igneous bedrock to medium grade metamorphic rocks including schists. This exhibit won the American Zoological Association best exhibit award for 2010.

The entry arch is carved to replicate Karst limestone blocks. A young explorer will also discover fossils exposed in the blocks facets when they were honed by native masons.
